At first when people started talking about school starting, I wasn't ready. I did not want it to start. All the other moms were saying how they couldn't wait (which I do not understand at all), but not me. I decided to wait until after Labor Day to start school. It worked. By then, I was ready to get back into a normal routine. I am not sure Joshua was, but he is doing well. It seems like we have been back at it for a long time, but it has only been a few weeks! lol Wow! He has already had three history tests, two science tests, and one math test. He is reading Moby Dick by Herman Melville and trucking along with his other subjects. I am pleased with his attitude and progress. Science will be a little tougher this year. He is loving history though. He always has. I think math will be a challenge later in the year, but that will be good for him.
We live in an apartment building. Every morning I hear a lady taking her child to school. Every morning he is crying about going and she is dragging him (not literally of course) to school. It is just so sad! How can that child have a good day and learn anything? I am sure as the day goes on, things change and it does get better, but what about the first few hours? They are about worthless I bet. I hope and pray that the mother can get her family into a better routine and the mornings will work out smoother for them. It is just so sad to hear.
JM's college classes are going great! He did have to switch one of his classes because it was going to take up more time than he had. They told him the biology class was going to have about 13 to 14 hours of homework a week! With him working full time and going to school full time, it just wasn't possible. So he was able to get his class changed. The biology will have to wait for another semester or so.
